Operations Supervisor/Manager (Wholesale Food & Alcohol)

Founded in 2015, ZT Wholesale Solutions in Port Kembla is a leading food and beverage wholesaler supplying a diverse and extensive range of products to over 300 venues throughout the Illawarra, South Coast, Southern Highlands and Southern Sydney regions.

Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our logistics and warehousing functions. Reporting to the owner and General Manager, you’ll champion efficiency and compliance across warehouse and delivery operations and play a key role in building scalable systems that can support the next phase of our business growth.

What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day

Our key operational times are from 4am to 12 noon and you will oversee all warehouse and transport operations, leading a team of approximately 15 staff. Your role involves managing the full day‑to‑day running of the warehouse and delivery functions to ensure smooth, efficient, and well‑coordinated operations. With the assistance of three direct reports this includes:

Safety & Compliance: Developing and enforcing robust WHS policies specific to warehousing, machinery, and cold storage. Ensuring strict adherence to Food Safety (HACCP/FSANZ) and Alcohol Licensing regulations to maintain all necessary permits.

Managing the Flow: Overseeing daily receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations to ensure a streamlined workflow and timely customer deliveries (DIFOT).

Inventory Control: Driving high inventory accuracy through strict cycle counting, location management, and adherence to stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) to minimise waste/losses.

Team Leadership: Providing leadership, training, and performance management for the warehouse and driver team, fostering a proactive safety culture and high morale.





Optimisation: Utilising our ERP/WMS systems and AI to automate tasks, provide actionable data, and ensure our processes are robust enough to support projected business growth.

Fleet Management: Overseeing the day‑to‑day coordination, maintenance, and compliance of the delivery vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and efficiently utilised while supporting drivers in meeting all transport and safety requirements.

Experience You'll Need to Succeed

We're seeking a candidate with a proven track record in a similar highly regulated logistics or distribution environment:

Demonstrated Managerial Experience in a warehouse or logistics setting, preferably within the wholesale food and/or alcohol industry.

Working knowledge of Food Safety Standards (HACCP/FSANZ) and Liquor Licensing requirements.

Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain effective Work Health & Safety (WHS) systems.

Experience with Inventory Management Systems (ERP/WMS) and driving high stock accuracy.

Streamlining current planning, purchasing, pick and pack, transport logistics by working with our in-house AI specialist to reduce current administrative practises to drive efficiency in the warehouse and exceeding customer expectations.

Excellent people leadership skills, including training and performance management for operational teams.
