Are you an experienced Civil Operator looking for secure, long-term work with a respected local company?

Fergus Builders has a strong pipeline of civil projects across the Mackay region, and we're looking for a capable, hands‐on operator to join our growing team.

n

This is a varied role working across build pads, carparks, subdivisions and commercial earthworks. You'll operate a range of well‐maintained machinery while helping the team deliver safe, accurate and high‐quality results.

ABOUT THE ROLE

n

Reporting to the Civil Project Manager, you'll play a key role across a variety of civil projects.

n

Projects range from build pads and carparks to subdivisions and more—so no two days are the same.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

n
- Operating civil plant and machinery, including excavators, loaders, rollers, posi tracks, water trucks and graders
n
- Completing earthworks for build pads, carparks, subdivisions and commercial projects
n
- Performing daily pre‐start checks and reporting maintenance requirements
n
- Working from site plans, levels and technical drawings
n
- Maintaining accurate daily records using basic digital reporting tools
n




- Identifying site issues and contributing practical solutions
n
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance
n
- Keeping plant and vehicles clean and well‐maintained
n
- Labouring tasks to assist the team as required.

ABOUT YOU

n

Essential:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience operating civil construction machinery
n
- Current HR licence
n
- Current White Card
n
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
n
- Sound knowledge of civil construction methods and materials
n
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
n
- Reliable, organised and team‐focused approach
n
- Willingness to grow with the role
n

n

Highly regarded:

n

n
- Final Trim and GPS experience
n
- Grader operating experience
n
- Subdivision or commercial earthworks experience
n
- Ability to read plans, levels and technical drawings
n
- Previous experience leading or coordinating site activities
n

n

You don't need experience operating every machine listed. If you're a skilled operator with a robust work ethic and is willing to broaden your capabilities, we'd still like to hear from you.
