Meyer Cookware Australia Pty Ltd – Croydon VIC Meyer Cookware Australia is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Melbourne finance team. It's a hands-on role across both accounts payable and credit control: processing supplier invoices and payment runs, keeping the receivables ledger current, following up overdue accounts, and sorting out retailer claims and deductions. You'll report to our Finance Director and work closely with the Sales team day to day. What you’ll be doing Accounts payable

Foreign and local supplier invoices — coding, approvals, FX contracts and GST treatment

The fortnightly payment run, prepared for approval, plus supplier master data integrity

Monthly reconciliation of key supplier accounts, resolving queries directly with suppliers

Expense claims and AP/AR inputs into cashflow forecasting

Credit control and receivables

Onboarding new customers: credit checks, references, trading terms and credit limits

Daily oversight of the AR ledger, escalating overdue balances and risk exposures

Collections end to end — statements, calls, letters and dispute resolution

Working alongside Key Account Managers and Sales Support to resolve commercial disputes, including placing orders on hold where the situation calls for it

Maintaining the credit-risk register and bad-debt provisioning model

Managing our credit insurance and debt collection partners

Claims, reconciliations and month-end





Investigating and resolving retailer claims and deductions — shortages, markdowns, co-op — across all channels

Raising customer credit notes and claims with proper documentary evidence

Customer care refunds and e-commerce platform clearing and payment journals

Bank reconciliations for review, plus month-end close support and ad hoc analysis

What you’ll bring

A degree in business or accounting

4+ years in transactional finance covering both accounts payable and credit control — ideally in wholesale, FMCG or multi-channel consumer goods selling into major Australian retailers

A solid grip on retailer trading terms, co-op, scan-back and markdown mechanics

Confidence navigating retailer portals (Myer, David Jones, Big W, Amazon Vendor Central and similar)

Strong ERP skills across AP and AR modules, bank reconciliation tools, and Excel for aged-debt analysis

Working knowledge of GST treatment, PPSR, statutory demands and credit insurance processes

Accuracy at volume, and the discipline to keep it under deadline pressure

The ability to be commercially firm on collections without damaging relationships we’ve spent years building

Transparent, professional communication with customers, suppliers and colleagues

Self-direction — you’ll be juggling payment-run and collections deadlines that don’t always line up

Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day work — we're rolling them out across the business and want someone curious about where they can save time on the repetitive stuff
