casual basis . This role is based in Broken Hill, NSW, and offers the perfect opportunity for hospitality professionals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment during morning service. As a Breakfast Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality breakfast dishes that meet our guests' expectations and contribute to their memorable stay at our hotel.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast items including cooked breakfasts, pastries, and continental options to hotel standards
Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards
Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
Work efficiently during peak breakfast service times to deliver meals promptly to guests
Monitor and manage food inventory, reporting stock levels and placing orders as required
Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure seamless service
Follow all health, safety and food handling procedures
Assist with basic food preparation and mise en place before service begins
What we’re looking for
Proven experience working as a cook in a hotel, restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong knowledge of breakfast cuisine and ability to cook a range of breakfast items to a high standard
Excellent food hygiene and safety awareness with understanding of food handling best practices
Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods
Strong organisational and time management skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility and reliability for casual shifts including weekends
Relevant qualifications such as a food handler's certificate or hospitality qualification are desirable
