In this dual role, you will bridge the gap between fieldwork and scientific analysis. You will split your time between conducting on-site hazardous material assessments and performing rigorous testing within our in-house laboratory. This is an entry-level opportunity for a science graduate looking to build a career in Occupational Hygiene.
Key responsibilities
Prepare, process, and analyse samples for hazardous materials including asbestos, lead and mould using microscopy and standard lab equipment
Maintain strict laboratory compliance, calibrate equipment, and document all findings in accordance with regulatory standards and quality control protocols
Assist senior consultants with building inspections, hazardous material surveys, and air monitoring at various client sites
Compile laboratory data and field observations into clear, accurate technical reports for clients and regulatory bodies
About you
Bachelor's degree (or similar) in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline
Prior experience in a laboratory setting (academic or industry) is highly preferred
Experience handling chemicals or hazardous samples safely
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to follow strict safety protocols
Familiarity with microscopy (PLM/PCM) or data logging software is an asset
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to local field sites
Funding for qualified certifications (e.g., asbestos assessor, occupational hygiene modules)
