Current First Aid & CPR certification

Position Summary : The Opportunity With a new dentist joining the practice, we're looking for a Dental Assistant to join our warm, close-knit team. Whether your strength is chairside or front-of-house, this role suits someone who genuinely loves patient care and wants to grow with a practice that's going places.

Saturday availability required (half-day shifts) Prior dental experience highly regarded

What We're Looking For 12+ months' experience in dental assisting or reception (preferred, not essential) A friendly, patient-focused manner and strong communication skills Composure and organisation in a busy clinical setting Reliability, team spirit, and a willingness to learn

Key Requirements : Position Requirements Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting. Minimum 1 year dental assisting experience preferred. Previous reception/customer service experience preferred. Current First Aid & CPR certification. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols. Proficiency in dental practice software. High attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Job Responsibility : Reporting To: Practice Manager

Key Responsibilities Chairside Clinical Support Provide chairside assistance across general, cosmetic and implant procedures. Prepare surgeries in advance and anticipate clinician requirements. Maintain efficient appointment flow and minimise delays. Support sedation and surgical sessions as rostered. Follow all infection control and sterilisation protocols. Operate and maintain autoclaves and sterilisation equipment. Maintain instrument traceability and sterilisation logs.



Ensure zero sterilisation breaches and full audit compliance.

Front Office Operations Greet patients professionally and manage check-in/check-out efficiently. Answer phone calls promptly and convert inquiries into appointments. Manage confirmations, cancellations and rescheduling. Provide explicit payment explanations and financial coordination. Book appointments accurately in practice software. Minimise schedule gaps and optimise chair utilisation. Generate and action recall and incomplete treatment lists weekly. Prioritise urgent cases appropriately. Process payments, HICAPS, Medicare and deposits accurately. Reconcile end-of-day transactions with zero discrepancies. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.

Stock & Clinical Readiness Monitor clinical and front office stock levels. Restock surgeries daily and update ordering lists. Support sister clinics if required.
