Temporary Accountant - Short-Term Contract Nexus Stone Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis, providing cover while the current accountant is on leave. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can step into an established finance function, work independently and ensure the smooth continuation of day-to-day accounting and payroll activities.
Key responsibilities
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Processing and managing payroll
Superannuation and employee entitlements
Preparing and lodging BAS
Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero
Supplier and customer account reconciliations
Managing payments and following up outstanding accounts
Assisting with month-end reporting
General accounting and finance administration
About you
Highly proficient in Xero
Good knowledge of Australian payroll, superannuation and BAS requirements
Confident working independently and taking ownership of the accounts function
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Able to quickly learn existing processes and systems
Reliable, professional and comfortable working in a busy business workplace
Experience within the construction, manufacturing or stone industry would be advantageous but is not essential
