Assistant Accountant About the Organisation Join a globally recognised retail organisation with an established presence in Australia and an exciting, quick-paced working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Junior Accountant to join a high-performing finance team and develop their accounting skills within a large, well-respected international business.

About the Role As a Junior Accountant, you will support the broader Finance team across a range of accounting and financial administration activities. This role would suit an early-career accountant looking to build strong foundations across month-end, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting.

You will work closely with experienced finance professionals and have the opportunity to gain exposure to the financial operations of a large, complex retail organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes

Prepare and maintain balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities

Process journals, accruals and prepayments

Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations

Support the preparation of financial reports and management accounts

Assist with invoice processing and payment runs as required

Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies

Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation





Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting information when required

Support the Finance team with budgeting, forecasting and reporting activities

Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the Finance function

Provide general accounting and administrative support to the wider Finance team

About You We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Accountant who is keen to develop their career within a globally recognised organisation.

You will ideally have:

A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline

1-2 years' experience in an accounting or finance workplace

Robust understanding of fundamental accounting principles

Experience with reconciliations and general ledger processes

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

A proactive approach and willingness to learn

The ability to work collaboratively within a busy Finance team

CA/CPA studies, or an intention to commence professional studies, would be highly regarded.
