Lead civil design delivery for major transmission and substation projects, providing technical expertise across Australia's critical energy infrastructure

The Opportunity Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking an experienced

Senior Civil Engineer

to join our growing Power business. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering civil engineering solutions across major transmission and substation projects. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will provide technical leadership throughout the design lifecycle, ensuring high quality, fit for purpose outcomes.

Deliver civil designs for major transmission and substation projects

Provide technical leadership and mentoring across project teams

Prepare design documentation, scopes of work and tender packages

Support project delivery, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure all designs meet safety, quality and client requirements

This is a full-time permanent role based in our office in

Milton, QLD .

What We Are Looking For We are looking for a collaborative and experienced engineering professional who thrives in a project setting and brings a strong understanding of civil design within the power and utilities sector.

To be successful, you will have:

Qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

Chartered Professional Engineer status,



or the ability to obtain it

Experience delivering civil design for transmission and substation projects within the power industry

Strong experience across bulk earthworks, drainage, oil containment, access roads/tracks, and site civil infrastructure

Knowledge of utility and transmission network infrastructure

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

The ability to manage design deliverables, priorities and project deadlines

A flexible and team focused approach to problem solving
