Assistant Building Surveyor - Residential

About the Role

Join an established building surveying consultancy in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, supporting residential building permit applications from lodgement through to approval. This position suits an Assistant Building Surveyor with at least two years of experience assessing residential approvals who is ready to take greater ownership of projects. Assess residential building permit applications and supporting documentation Review plans against the NCC, Building Act and Victorian Building Regulations Identify outstanding information and prepare requests for further information Liaise with builders, architects, designers, owners and other consultants Prepare permit documentation and assist with issuing approvals Coordinate amendments,



mandatory inspections and final documentation Maintain accurate records and keep applications progressing efficiently Provide practical and solution-focused compliance advice About You

Minimum two years of experience in residential building approvals Building surveying qualification completed or currently underway Strong understanding of Class 1 and 10 buildings Knowledge of the NCC and Victorian building legislation Experience reviewing architectural, structural and supporting documentation Confident communicating with builders, designers and property owners Organised, accurate and capable of managing multiple applications Australian working rights Company and Culture
