Fintry Autos is seeking an experienced

Mechanic

to join our team on a

full-time basis

at our Wongawallan QLD 4210 location. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and customer expectations. As a key member of our automotive team, you will play an essential part in delivering high-quality service and maintaining the reputation of Fintry Autos within the local community.

Key responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and visual inspection techniques

Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections and fluid top-ups

Repair and replace vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspension systems and brake systems

Conduct pre-delivery inspections and safety checks on completed work

Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used and time spent on each job

Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs needed, timelines and costs

Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe in compliance with health and safety regulations

Utilise workshop equipment and tools safely and responsibly

Stay current with vehicle technology and repair techniques through ongoing training

What we’re looking for

Valid automotive mechanic qualifications or equivalent trade certification





Minimum 2-3 years of hands‑on experience as a qualified mechanic

Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems and brake systems

Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service specifications

Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

Current driver's licence

Commitment to health and safety practices and regulations

Willingness to learn and adapt to new vehicle technologies
