Your typical day as a Senior Investigations Officer - Level 1 may include:

Identifying and addressing instances of non-compliance with revenue laws through audit or investigation

Reviewing client lodgements, and making determinations about taxation liabilities or exemptions

Writing reports, analysing data, interpreting legislation and liaising with professional advisors

Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues to help them grow and learn.

About the Divisions:

The Payroll Tax and Betting Tax Division administers payroll tax, mental health levy and betting tax legislation.

The Royalty and Complex Assessments division makes assessments and determinations across duties and royalty legislation as well as determining eligibility for ex gratia relief under a number of administrative arrangements.

The Duties and Grants Division administers duties and grants legislation.

The Land Tax Division administers Queensland's land tax and carries out activities that include supporting and educating clients on their land tax obligations.

These vacancies currently exists within the Payroll Tax division, however this process may be used to fill similar roles in other QRO divisions and revenue lines across Brisbane & Maroochydore.

There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, although to be successful you will need:

the capability to analyse, interpret and apply legislation

experience in an audit, investigation, administrative decision making, legal or similar role, preferably in a financial or tax environment

a working knowledge of digital and data technology/systems

the capability to apply your own knowledge and skills to solve problems collaboratively
