Disability Support Worker – Complex 1:1 Support Join Our Team and Make a Meaningful Difference

About the Role We are seeking experienced and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team.

This role offers a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster. (9 am to 5 pm or 5 pm to 9 am)

The participant we are recruiting for is immunocompromised. To ensure the participant's health and safety, you will be required to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout each shift, including an N95 mask, gown or apron, and shoe covers.

Due to the participant's sensitivity to coughing, sniffing, sneezing and clearing of the throat, applicants who regularly experience these symptoms will not be suitable for this program.

We are looking for professionals with extensive industry experience who are committed to delivering exceptional, person-centred support.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing consistent 1:1 support in the participant's home and community

Supporting daily routines, independence and community participation

Commitment to wearing full PPE for the entire shift and maintaining strict compliance with infection control protocols

Providing structured and person centred approach to complex support

Recognising early signs of distress, overwhelm or changes in presentation

Supporting alternative communication when verbal communication is difficult

Responding calmly to unexpected or changing situations

Following individualised support, safety and emergency plans

Supporting emotional regulation and de-escalation





Maintaining the participant's dignity, privacy and choice

Supporting social and family relationships

Assisting with meaningful activities and community access

Maintaining skilled boundaries

Completing accurate progress notes and incident reports

Communicating appropriately with the broader support team

Escalating health, safety or other concerns when required

About You You are a compassionate, reliable, and resilient support worker who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of people with disability.

We are looking for support workers who are:

Calm and patient

Reliable, consistent and dependable

Comfortable working independently in a 1:1 environment

Confident supporting people with complex and changing needs

Able to remain calm during periods of distress or unexpected events

Strong communicators who can adapt their communication style

Respectful of different communication methods

Person-centred, trauma-informed and non-judgemental

Confident with de-escalation and positive support strategies

Able to maintain clear professional boundaries

Comfortable following individualised plans and procedures

Able to complete clear and objective documentation

Willing to learn the participant's individual preferences, routines and support strategies
