Ozcare has a Casual position available for a Cook at our beautiful Aged Care facility in Newstead.

Your Role

As a Cook you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our clients. Your tasks will include:

Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements

Ensure all meals meet IDDSI and texture-modified needs

Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards

Monitor and comply with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental practices

Role Requirements

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

Demonstrated previous cooking experience for aged care residents would be an advantage





Demonstrated ability to prepare nutritious meals that meet the dietary and texture modification requirements of older people

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of IDDSI

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong time management and organisational skills in a busy kitchen environment.

Flexible availability to cover annual leave, sick leave and ability to work morning, afternoon, and occasional weekend shifts.

Compassionate and resident-focused approach, robust communication and teamwork skills, commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences for residents.

Be vaccinated against Influenza & at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Hold a current Police Screening Certificate

Current First Aid & CPRtraining Certificates
