Corio Village Medical Practice is seeking an experienced and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team on a casual basis. The successful applicant will be professional, organized and confident working in a general practice environment.

Key responsibilities

Welcome patients and provide respectful, culturally appropriate service

Confirm patient identity using three approved identifiers

Manage appointments, telephone calls and patient enquiries efficiently

Recognise potentially urgent concerns and promptly escalates them to clinical staff

Maintain accurate and confidential electronic patient records

Process Medicare billings, payments and patient information correctly

Manage correspondence, recalls, reminders and incoming documents according to practice procedures

Follow privacy, confidentiality, infection‑control and emergency procedures

Assist with patient feedback, incidents and administrative follow-up





Support doctors, nurses and the practice team in delivering protected, coordinated patient care

About you

Previous experience in medical reception

Familiarity with Best Practice software preferred

Excellent communication and customer‑service skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Dependable, flexible and available to cover additional shifts when required

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Sound understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality
