About Archerfield Airport Archerfield Airport is located 11km south of the Brisbane CBD. It has a rich history, serving originally as Brisbane’s primary and international airport and later as a base during WWII. In 1998, the airport was privatised under a 99-year lease from the Commonwealth Government.

Today, the airport operates as Queensland’s largest General Aviation hub and Brisbane’s Metropolitan airport. Archerfield Airport Corporation (AAC) is modernising the airport by building the foundations for future growth through several projects including airside and landside civil infrastructure, hangar developments and commercial and industrial buildings.

About the opportunity This is a great chance to join a small, friendly and close-knit team, maintaining the extensive grounds of the Archerfield Airport precinct. We are seeking a physically fit, reliable, and self-motivated person to help maintain and enhance the airport’s landside precinct and assisting with airside upkeep when required.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about gardening and landscaping,



with a keen eye for presentation and upkeep.

For the right person, there is also considerable growth opportunities within the Ground Services Team to develop a career in the Aviation Industry.

Key responsibilities include:

Mowing (Zero-turn ride on), whipper snipping, and general garden maintenance

Street cleaning and litter removal

Hedging and trimming of plants and trees

Green waste collection and removal

Weed, pest, and disease control and identification

Operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment

General labouring and cleaning

Compliance with Safety Management Systems

Performing other duties as needed to meet company objectives

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a gardening or landscaping role preferred

Ability to use initiative and work unsupervised

Competent in using equipment such as zero-turn ride-on mowers, whipper snippers, chainsaws, hedgers, and power tools

Strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility

Ability to identify and rectify problems as they arise
