As a 1st or 2nd Year Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced electricians and infrastructure crews while continuing your formal apprenticeship training.

You'll gain exposure to:

Traffic signal installation

Public lighting installation and maintenance

Underground electrical infrastructure

Electrical conduits, pits and cabling

Road and civil infrastructure

Electrical tools and equipment

Reading plans and electrical drawings

Testing and fault finding

Traffic signal controllers and equipment

Civil works associated with electrical installations

VESI/VEDN industry requirements and practices

About the role Working under the direction of qualified and experienced electrical personnel, you will assist with the installation, maintenance and construction of traffic signal and public lighting infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

Assisting qualified electricians with electrical works

Installing conduits and underground infrastructure

Cable installation and cable hauling

Assisting with traffic signal installations

Assisting with public lighting installations

Installing electrical pits and infrastructure

Preparing work areas and equipment

Assisting with testing and commissioning

Learning fault-finding techniques

Working safely around roads and live infrastructure

REQUIREMENTS Applicants should:

Currently be undertaking, or be eligible to commence, an Electrical Apprenticeship

Ideally be

1st or 2nd Year

Hold or be willing to obtain a White Card

Have a driver's licence or be working towards obtaining one

Be willing to work outdoors and on construction sites

Be willing to undertake additional industry training as required

HIGHLY REGARDED:

LR / MR / HR Truck Licence

Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship

Previous electrical experience

Construction experience

Traffic signal experience

Public lighting experience

VEDN-related training

EWP

Working at Heights

Traffic Management
