Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon Receptionist
As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of the practice — managing appointments, coordinating theatre bookings, and handling billing with accuracy and care. Main consulting location in Mornington and travel required once a fortnight to St Kilda consulting suites. We are looking for a part-time receptionist 4 days a week (Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri). Hours: Mon, Tues, Wed 8:30-4:30 Fri 8:30-3:30pm Key responsibilities Greet and welcome patients warmly, creating a calm and reassuring environment Manage appointment scheduling and day-to-day reception duties Coordinate theatre/surgery bookings with hospitals and admissions staff Process health fund billing, Medicare claims, and related administrative tasks Liaise with patients, GPs, hospitals,
and health funds Maintain accurate patient records and correspondence Support the surgeon and broader team with general administrative duties Liaising with TAC, Workcover and solicitors for patients with active claims About you At least one years' experience in a similar role Proficiency with Gentu practice management software (preferred) Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office Excellent work ethic and reliability Strong communication skills and a professional phone manner Highly organised with strong attention to detail Able to work independently and confidently as part of a small team Discreet, reliable, and empathetic when dealing with patients Ability to multi-task and prioritise A supportive and collegial team workplace Stable, ongoing role within a well-established specialist practice with opportunities to grow Brand new facilities Competitive remuneration based on experience
