IT Project Coordinator Higher Education Technology Transformation An opportunity has become available for an experienced IT Project Coordinator to join a large and complex higher education workplace undergoing significant digital transformation.

Working closely with IT Project Managers and cross functional technology teams, you’ll coordinate a varied portfolio of technology projects supporting both staff and students. The role will have exposure across project scheduling, resources, cost forecasting, governance, reporting and continuous improvement of project delivery practices.

Previous experience working within a university, higher education or education environment is essential for this opportunity.

The Opportunity This is more than a traditional project administration role. You’ll work alongside Project Managers across the full project lifecycle while helping improve the processes, tools and governance used to manage the broader IT portfolio.

You’ll support project schedules, resource planning and portfolio reporting, while coordinating across technology teams and senior stakeholders. You’ll also contribute to improving delivery practices, including workflows, prioritisation and the use of JIRA or similar service management tools.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting IT Project Managers across the full project lifecycle

Coordinating a diverse portfolio of enterprise technology projects

Supporting project schedules, resource planning, prioritisation and cost forecasting

Coordinating communication across cross functional technology and business teams

Monitoring and reporting on portfolio progress

Tracking and escalating risks, actions, issues and decisions

Supporting project governance, templates, checklists and lessons learned

Coordinating progress reports, proposals and presentations





Supporting the ongoing improvement of project delivery processes and practices

Using JIRA and other service management tools to support project delivery

What We’re Looking For You’ll ideally bring:

Previous university, higher education or education sector experience, essential

Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise level IT or technology projects and programs

Strong understanding of the project management lifecycle

Experience working with and interpreting project schedules

Strong project coordination, organisation and attention to detail

Experience across risk and issue management, resource management and prioritisation

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including exposure to senior and C suite stakeholders

Experience using JIRA or a similar service management tool

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to operate effectively within a complex and evolving environment
