Job Description
Our client is an established commercial construction business with a strong reputation for delivering a diverse mix of projects across Sydney. The business has built long-standing relationships across the property and facilities market, with a significant proportion of work generated through repeat clients, referrals and trusted relationships.
n
The Projects team delivers a varied mix of commercial construction work including fit-out, refurbishment, building upgrades, remedial works and more complex project works. It is supported by in-house maintenance and electrical capability, giving the business a broader offering to clients and creating multiple avenues for repeat work and long-term relationships.
n
This role will report directly to the General Manager and will play an important part in continuing to grow the division's pipeline and market presence.
n
The Opportunity
n
You'll spend your time in the market building relationships, identifying opportunities early and positioning the business with the right clients before projects formally come to tender.
n
Your network may include building owners, facilities teams, asset managers, commercial agents, tenant representatives, project managers and property consultants.
n
The business already benefits from a strong level of repeat work, so you won't be starting from scratch. The chance is to strengthen those existing relationships while opening new doors and creating a broader pipeline of project opportunities.
n
The project mix is varied, giving you access to a much broader client base and more ways to generate work.
n
Your Responsibilities
n
n
- Develop and execute business development initiatives for the Projects division
n
- Build and strengthen relationships across the commercial property and construction market
n
- Develop networks with building owners, facilities teams, asset managers, agents, tenant reps and consultants
n
- Identify upcoming projects and opportunities before they formally enter the market
n
- Support client engagement throughout the tender and pre-construction process
n
- Represent the business at meetings, industry events and networking opportunities
n
n
About You
n
You may currently be working for a commercial builder, fit-out contractor, industrial contractor, property services business, facilities provider or broader construction company.
n
The business is open to someone from a broader commercial or industrial construction background who brings the right network, commercial awareness and ability to create opportunities.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
- Proven business development experience within construction, property or a closely related market
n
- An established network across areas such as building owners, facilities, commercial agents, tenant representatives, asset managers and property consultants
n
- A track record of turning relationships into genuine project opportunities
n
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the construction project lifecycle
n
- Confidence engaging with senior decision-makers
n
- A natural, relationship-driven approach to business development
n
- Strong networking, communication and presentation skills
n
- The ability to work autonomously while remaining closely connected with operational and project teams
n
n
Why Join?
n
You'll be representing a company that can support clients across projects, maintenance and electrical, giving you multiple ways to open doors, deepen relationships and create repeat opportunities.
n
You'll also benefit from:
n
n
- An established Projects team with strong delivery capability
n
- A high level of repeat and referred business
n
- A diverse project offering rather than a narrow focus on one sector
n
- Existing relationships across the commercial property and facilities market
n
- Direct access to the General Manager and senior leadership
n
- Genuine autonomy to build your network and influence the division's growth
n
- A professional but genuinely friendly culture where people know each other, support each other and enjoy coming to work
n
- A team that makes a point of greeting each other properly every morning, with music playing in the office and a relaxed but high-performing atmosphere
n
- A business that has doubled year on year and has ambitious, inspiring growth plans ahead
n
- The opportunity to join at a stage where there is already strong momentum, but still plenty of room to make an impact
