Vantage Mining Solutions is a growing mining consultancy based on the Sunshine Coast. We support clients across open pit and underground operations with mine planning, design, scheduling, studies and operational support.
We’re looking Mining Engineers to join our Technical team. Your background might be in open pit, in underground, or across both. You’ll work alongside our senior and principal engineers across a range of commodities, mining methods and client sites, and take on more responsibility as your experience grows.
What the role involves
- Mine designs, production schedules and life-of-mine plans for our clients
- Building and validating schedules around equipment, resource and operational constraints
- Supporting studies, technical reviews and scenario analysis
- Writing reports and presenting findings to clients
- Site-based work on client projects as required (FIFO/DIDO, depending on the project)
What we’re looking for
- A degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Hard rock experience in mine planning, design and/or scheduling, in open pit, underground or both
- Working knowledge of at least one mine planning package, such as Deswik (preferred), Surpac, Vulcan or Datamine
- Strong analytical skills and clear written and verbal communication
- A genuine commitment to safety, and the ability to meet site medical and induction requirements
Experience in one environment is all we need. If you’ve worked across both, or across a range of commodities, that’s a bonus. Consulting experience is also well regarded.
