An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Architect / Senior Architect with previous experience working on Defence projects. In this role you would be joining a well-established and highly regarded architectural practice in Sydney.

This position is suited to an architectural professional with 7–15+ years' post-graduate experience who is looking to work on significant, complex and design-focused projects within a stable and supportive practice.

Working within a highly experienced architectural team, you will take a key role in the design, documentation, coordination and delivery of major projects, with a particular focus on the Australian Defence sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Leading and contributing to Defence and other significant design-led architectural projects
n
- Taking projects through design development, documentation, coordination and delivery
n
- Leading the preparation and review of architectural documentation in Revit
n
- Managing and coordinating internal architectural teams across key project stages
n
- Coordinating with clients, consultants,



contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
n
- Leading consultant coordination and resolving complex design, technical and construction-related issues
n
- Participating in and leading design reviews, project meetings and stakeholder presentations
n
- Managing project deliverables, programmes and key milestones
n
- Ensuring documentation complies with relevant Australian codes, standards, Defence requirements and project-specific criteria
n
- Reviewing documentation and maintaining a high level of technical and design quality
n
- Supporting project resourcing, workflow and delivery requirements
n
- Working within secure Defence and Government project environments
n
- Mentoring and supporting Graduate Architects and less experienced members of the architectural team
n
- Contributing to a collaborative, design-focused and supportive studio culture
n

To be considered for this role, you must have:

n

n
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, or equivalent recognised qualification
n
- 7–15+ years' post-graduate architectural experience
n
- Demonstrated professional experience working on Australian Defence projects
n
- Experience working within secure Defence and/or Government project environments
n
- High-level proficiency in Revit
n
- Strong project leadership and architectural delivery experience
n
- Strong architectural design, documentation and technical skills
n
- Proven experience working across multiple stages of architectural project delivery
n
- Experience coordinating and managing multidisciplinary consultant teams
n
- Strong client, consultant and stakeholder management skills
n
- A sound understanding of Australian building codes, regulations, standards and construction requirements
n
- The ability to resolve complex architectural, technical and construction-related issues
n
- Strong organisational and project management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
n
- The ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary project teams
n




- The ability to mentor and support more junior architectural team members
n
- A genuine interest in high-quality, design-focused architecture
n

Mandatory Defence & Security Requirements

n

Due to the sensitive nature of the projects associated with this position, the following requirements are essential and non-negotiable:

n

n
- Applicants must hold full Australian citizenship
n
- Applicants must have the appropriate legal and security eligibility to work on Australian Defence projects
n
- Previous experience working on Australian Defence projects is essential
n
- Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, the required Australian Government security clearance
n
- Applicants must be able to successfully complete all required security, probity, background and project-specific checks
n
- Applicants with current or previous foreign citizenship, residency or relevant foreign affiliations must satisfy all applicable Defence security, nationality and project-specific eligibility requirements
n
- Where Defence project access is restricted according to nationality, country of origin or other security requirements, applicants must meet the relevant approved-country eligibility criteria applicable to the project
n

n

Candidates who do not meet the mandatory Defence security, citizenship and project eligibility requirements will not be considered for this position.

n

Location Requirements

n

The role is based in Sydney, and applicants should ideally already be located in Sydney. Candidates currently based interstate may also be considered; however, interstate applicants must have demonstrated Australian Defence project experience, full Australian citizenship and the required eligibility to work on secure Australian Defence projects.
