The role

This role enables you to play an active part in creating healthy menus.

The role is Monday to Friday with up to 37.5 hours per week

You’ll have access to a national network of centre cooks who regularly share recipes, questions, ideas and tips!

You’ll also be encouraged to utilise the amazing feed Australia program – a free program enabling cooks to plan, budget and access healthy menus to enable children’s growth and development while in child care.

About you

Efficient and capable cook

Able to prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus for children of all ages

Experienced in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management and budget control

Strict about complying with relevant food safety and hygiene regulations and standards

Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs

Keen to participate in the early educational opportunities of teaching children about healthy food by sharing in lessons and family events

About the Centre Located on Myers Street in Lakes Entrance, Milestones Early Learning Lakes Entrance offers high-quality childcare and kindergarten for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a warm, community-focused workplace where children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Set within the heart of this coastal community, our centre is conveniently located for families living in Lakes Entrance, Kalimna, Lake Bunga and surrounding East Gippsland areas, just minutes from the Lakes Entrance town centre and waterfront precinct.

You already have

Current Food Safety and Handlers (Health and Community) Certificate





Certificate III in Commercial Cookery / equivalent (desirable)

Experience in an early childhood setting

Reliable transport to and from our centre

Current first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate
