Part Time Early Childhood Teacher required (2 days per week)

Pennant Hills War Memorial Children's Centre (PHWMCC), a not-for-profit, community-based preschool, is seeking a passionate and experienced Early ChildhoodTeacher to join our dedicated team in 2027.

PHWMCC has been proudly providing preschool education to children in our local community for the last 78 years. We are a preschool where relationships matter, children are at the heart of what we do, and our educators are valued as professionals.

The Position

PHWMCC has a 2 day per week ECT position available commencing in Term 1, 2027. The hours are 8am–4pm each day (Th/Fr in 2027).

In addition, staff are required to attend two staff meetings per term after hours, as well as staff development days throughout the year.

An ECT is the room leader in each classroom of 20 children, working alongside a Diploma and Cert III educator to form the class team. Children attend during school terms.

As an ECT at PHWMCC, you will have the opportunity to lead a high-quality, play-based program where children's interests, ideas, agency and relationships are at the centre of the curriculum.

You will be supported by an experienced and collaborative team and will have the opportunity to contribute to our ongoing reflective practice and quality improvement.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

- An approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification
- Current NESA accreditation, or eligibility for accreditation
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Child Protection training
- Current National Child Safety training
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in providing high-quality education and care for 3–5-year-old children (preferably in a room leader role)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the EYLF V2.0
- Highly developed skills in planning, implementing and documenting children's learning
- Demonstrated ability to lead a teaching team and work collaboratively with educators
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety, wellbeing, rights and participation of children,



and an understanding of the responsibilities of working in a child-safe organisation
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive practice and supporting children with diverse needs

- building meaningful, trusting relationships with children, families, fellow teachers and educators,
- creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that reflect children's interests, ideas and strengths,
- supporting children's agency, voice and sense of belonging,
- communicating effectively, both written and verbal,
- reflective practice and a commitment to ongoing professional learning,
- organisation and time management,
- using technology to support teaching, learning and documentation, and
- being an enthusiastic and positive member of our preschool community.
