Role Description

As a Tutor at Snap Education, you will provide individualized academic support to students across Years 5-12 in Victoria, Australia, helping them understand key concepts, complete coursework, and prepare for assessments and exams. On a day-to-day basis, you will plan lessons, deliver one-on-one or small-group sessions, review student progress, and adjust your teaching approach to suit different learning styles. You will communicate regularly with students and families to set goals, provide feedback, and encourage effective study habits and confidence. This is a contract role with a hybrid working arrangement, combining in-person tutoring in Victoria with some work-from-home online sessions as appropriate. Tutors are expected to maintain skilled standards, uphold safeguarding practices,



and represent Snap Education's commitment to high-quality, student-centered learning.

Qualifications

- A VCE study score of 45 or above in each subject you want to teach, with strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly. We verify every score before your first session.
- Teaching, tutoring or mentoring skills, including adapting to different learning needs and supporting exam preparation and study skills. Previous experience is an advantage, particularly with exam-focused students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, motivate students, and keep families informed of progress.
- Reliability and organisation: students are booked into the same slot every week, and you'll write a short report after each session. Scheduling, rolls and invoicing are handled through our platform.
- Comfort using digital tools for hybrid delivery, including video conferencing, shared documents, and Snap's own tutoring platform.
- Completed VCE, with a strong understanding of the Victorian curriculum. Current university students and graduates in any discipline are welcome, but university study isn't required.
- Commitment to an inclusive, non-discriminatory learning environment, adherence to child safety standards, and a professional approach to contracted work.
- Availability to tutor in Melbourne, in person or online, with flexibility for after-school and weekend hours. A current Victorian Working with Children Check is required before your first session.
