The Opportunity:

My client is an established and growing construction business is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join its Toowoomba-based teamwith a planned commencement in January 2027.
n
With a strong pipeline of projects across Toowoomba and regional Queensland, this is an opportunity to take ownership of safety across a diverse construction portfolio while working alongside experienced delivery teams.

This role will suit a Safety Advisor who enjoys being out on site, building strong relationships and providing practical guidance rather than simply policing compliance.

About the Role:
n
Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and wider project teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with legislative and company requirements.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Implementing and maintaining WHS systems, policies and procedures across construction projects
n
- Conducting regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments
n
- Facilitating toolbox talks, inductions and on-site safety training
n
- Identifying hazards and working collaboratively with site teams to implement practical controls
n
- Monitoring contractor and subcontractor compliance
n
- Supporting incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions
n
- Providing advice and guidance on WHS legislation, regulations and construction safety requirements
n
- Maintaining accurate safety documentation and reporting
n
- Supporting safety management across groundworks, structures, formwork and general construction activities
n
- Driving continuous improvement across safety systems and site practices
n
- Building strong relationships with project teams, subcontractors, clients and other key stakeholders
n
n
About You:
n
You will be an experienced construction safety professional with a practical, collaborative approach and the confidence to engage effectively with people at all levels of a project.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or relevant tertiary qualification
n
- Demonstrated experience in a Safety Advisor or similar WHS role within construction
n
- Strong knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation and construction safety requirements
n
- Experience implementing safety systems, conducting audits and delivering on-site training
n
- Sound understanding of construction methodology including groundworks, structures and formwork
n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
n
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
n
- Competency across Microsoft Office and relevant safety systems
n
- A proactive, professional and solutions-focused approach to safety
n
