- 35‑hour base working week
- Flexible start and finish times between 6am and 10pm, with core hours of 10am–3pm
- Flex time, allowing additional hours worked to be accrued and taken back as flex leave

About the role

NSW Public Works (PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.

We are seeking an Executive Project Officer to play a critical role in providing high-level executive and project coordination support to Group Directors within NSW Public Works. You will drive operational excellence, ensuring the smooth implementation of strategies, systems, and client engagement initiatives across the directorates.

In this high-impact role, you will manage complex projects, facilitate key stakeholder collaboration, and contribute to business transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency and service delivery. Your ability to problem-solve, coordinate executive-level external engagement, and influence decision-making will be essential to driving continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

- Provide high-level executive and project coordination, ensuring the effective implementation of strategies, business processes, and client engagement initiatives.
- Manage and support projects by coordinating resources, preparing high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations, and monitoring project outcomes.
- Proactively identify and lead business improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, collaboration, and service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning efforts to support strategic objectives.
- Work collaboratively across business units, driving cross-functional projects and operational improvements.
- Prioritise competing demands in a quick-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Utilise technology and data to enhance operations and decision-making.
- Support staff development and change management to foster a culture of growth and adaptability.
- Demonstrate proven experience in preparing high-level reports, briefs, and presentations, including industry keynotes and Ministerial briefs.
- Experience or exposure to the infrastructure advisory and delivery sectors and construction procurement will be highly beneficial, equipping you with the industry insights needed to navigate complex projects and stakeholder requirements.
- Hold a current NSW Driver Licence and be willing to travel to regional and remote locations, including overnight stays.
