Manager, Peer-Led Residential Services and Justice Programs

SHARC is recruiting a Manager to lead peer-led residential recovery services and a justice mentoring program, combining strategic oversight, operational management, lived-experience practice and direct psychosocial support. The role is based in Carnegie and supports programs serving people affected by alcohol and other drugs, gambling and related harms.

Role and conditions: The position is ongoing and full-time at 1.0 FTE, equivalent to 76 hours per fortnight, although part-time arrangements may be considered. It reports to the Senior Manager, is based at 140 Grange Road, Carnegie, and is classified at SCHADS Grade 6 with an over-award component and salary packaging access of up to $15,900 per annum.

Programs supported: This role has responsibilities that cover Recovery Support Services for young people, Oxford Houses, which provides supportive recovery housing, the US Women's Recovery Program for women over 26, and Peer Mentors in Justice, which provides individual and group support to court participants across Victoria. Peer support, mutual aid and lived expertise underpin the programs.

Leadership accountabilities: The Manager leads service delivery, coordination and development across high-risk and complex programs; oversees daily operations and strategic direction; manages budgets, workforce planning, reporting, risk and compliance; and ensures alignment with SHARC values, funding agreements, legal obligations and quality requirements.





Service development and relationships: The role requires continuous improvement, appropriate direct care, professional leadership of multidisciplinary staff, partnership development, research, training and stakeholder engagement. The Manager represents SHARC in relevant forums and builds relationships with participants, families, partner organisations, government departments, courts, justice agencies, funders and sector networks.

Essential experience: Applicants must have publicly disclosed lived experience of alcohol and other drugs, at least three years of community services management experience, and experience with housing or homelessness, multidisciplinary teams, complex substance use and mental health needs, residential rehabilitation, self-help or therapeutic programs including 12-Step approaches. They must also demonstrate peer-support practice, professional boundaries, delegated authority, change leadership, codesign and collaborative stakeholder engagement.

Employment requirements: Employees must have valid working rights in Australia, obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Check, comply with SHARC policies and its Code of Conduct, complete mandatory training, and participate in annual performance reflection. Current employees are subject to a six (6)-month probation period, with employment governed by the SCHADS Award and salary packaging available under current legislation.
