Principal Site Reliability Engineer | Sydney We’re partnering with a leading technology-driven financial services organisation to appoint a Principal Site Reliability Engineer into its core Reliability Engineering function.

This is not a traditional operations-focused SRE role. It is a senior engineering leadership position for someone who can combine deep software engineering and architecture expertise with a strong understanding of reliability, scalability and resilience.

You will:

Shape the technical roadmap and engineering strategy

Architect scalable, secure and highly resilient systems

Remain technically involved through design, coding and code reviews

Establish engineering standards and modern development practices

Mentor senior engineers and build a culture of technical excellence

Improve platform reliability, incident management and operational performance

Explore how AI and emerging technologies can improve engineering outcomes

Influence senior product,



technology and business stakeholders

We’re looking for someone with:

Principal, Staff or Lead-level engineering experience

Strong software design and architecture capability

Experience building and operating complex, high-performance systems at scale

Deep knowledge of reliability engineering and modern software development

The ability to translate business requirements into practical, extensible solutions

A track record of influencing and inspiring high-performing engineering teams

Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous
