About the role

We are seeking a Senior Front of House Host to join our team on a part time or full-time basis in Mosman, NSW. This pivotal role sits at the heart of our guest experience, setting the tone for every visitor who walks through our doors. As Senior Front of House Host, you will create a welcoming atmosphere, manage guest arrivals and departures, and ensure our dining room runs seamlessly. You will work closely with our service team to uphold the highest standards of hospitality whilst maintaining the sophisticated ambience our guests expect.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they arrive
- Managing the host stand effectively, including monitoring table availability, managing reservations, and optimising seating arrangements
- Co-ordinating with front- and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service
- Maintaining an organised reservations system and accurately recording guest preferences and special occasions
- Handling guest enquiries and concerns with diplomacy, tact, and a commitment to resolution
- Providing guidance and support to junior front-of-house staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Ensuring the entrance and dining areas are immaculate and meet our exacting standards




- Managing wait times during peak periods whilst maintaining a calm and professional demeanour
- Contributing to the overall ambience by maintaining awareness of dining room dynamics and guest satisfaction

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience in a front-of-house or host role within a fine dining or upscale hospitality setting
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests confidently and authentically
- Robust organisational abilities and attention to detail, particularly in managing reservations and seating arrangements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively across all departments
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and support junior team members
- Proficiency with reservations software and point-of-sale systems
- Professional presentation and the ability to maintain composure in fast-paced environments
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings and weekends as required
- Preferred: Experience in a Michelin-starred or award-winning restaurant environment
