Your role
The NSW Government is determined to make NSW a place where everyone has access to safe and secure housing, and where experiences of homelessness are rare, brief and non-recurring.
Homes NSW is a division of the Department of Communities and Justice. It brings together the housing and homelessness functions of the Department of Communities and Justice, the NSW Land and Housing Corporation, Aboriginal Housing Office and key worker housing functions from across government all under one roof.
The Senior Project Officer manages and coordinates workforce planning and establishment activities to support effective organisational operations. The role works across the Executive Office and broader business to coordinate workforce and establishment matters, maintain accurate organisational information, and support informed decision-making and organisational priorities.
What you’ll do
- Undertake research and analysis to formulate recommendations that support workforce planning, establishment management, and informed decision-making.
- Manage and oversee workforce and establishment activities, including organisational structures, staff movements, recruitment and employee lifecycle processes, in line with agency requirements.
- Monitor and maintain workforce records, organisational structures, and staffing information, identifying and addressing issues and supporting effective workforce planning.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships across the organisation to coordinate business requirements and workforce and establishment outcomes.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on workforce and establishment processes, ensuring compliance with relevant governance and agency requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate briefings, advice, and supporting documentation on workforce and establishment matters to support Executive Office and organisational priorities.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience in workforce coordination, establishment management, and business support, within government or a comparable environment.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate information, identify issues, and support evidence-based decision making.
- Proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and coordinate activities across multiple teams and business areas.
- Experience preparing briefings, advice, correspondence, and other supporting documentation for senior or executive stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, timely outcomes in a complex setting.
- Knowledge of legislation and government processes relevant to Homes NSW or similar public sector environments.
This recruitment will also create a talent pool for future opportunities across Housing Strategy & Policy.
What We Offer
We offer a variety of benefits, including:
- A challenging and rewarding career
- Flexible, autonomous work environment
- Competitive pay and conditions
- Training and development opportunities to build and maintain capabilities
- Health & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance Programs.
