I'm recruiting a Junior Family Lawyer for a small, established general practice law firm with offices close to Sunnybank Hills.

You'll work directly with the firm's family law solicitor, one to one

Your own matters early, with someone experienced next to you when you need them

Principal who sits in the office and is involved in the work

General practice, so you'll see how family matters connect with property, wills and estates

What you'll do each day

Take instructions and meet clients on separation, divorce and parenting matters

Draft initiating applications, affidavits, consent orders and correspondence

Prepare property settlement and binding financial agreement matters





Domestic and family violence applications and appearances in the Magistrates Court

Appear on mentions and directions in the Federal Circuit and Family Court, with support building to more as you're ready

Negotiate with the other side and brief counsel where needed

Manage your own files, diary and client communication

What you need

Admitted in Queensland with a current practising certificate

One to three years PAE in family law, or recently admitted with solid family law exposure through a clerkship or paralegal role

Comfortable with client contact from day one, including the harder end of family work

Organised, practical and able to explain things plainly to people under stress

Permanent, full time

$70k to $100k plus super depending on experience
