Sydney South West Private Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiographer Cardiac Catheter Lab to join our team on a part-time basis. Based in Liverpool, NSW 2170, this role is pivotal in supporting our cardiac interventional procedures and diagnostic imaging services. As a Radiographer in our Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality imaging support to our cardiologists and interventional specialists, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and procedural success. This position offers the opportunity to work in a specialised medical imaging environment whilst maintaining work-life balance through part-time arrangements.

Key responsibilities

- Operating and maintaining cardiac catheter laboratory X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment in compliance with radiation safety standards and protocols
n
- Monitoring patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures
n
- Maintaining accurate and detailed imaging records and documentation for each patient procedure
n
- Assisting interventional cardiologists during catheterisation, angiography, and other cardiac procedures
n
- Ensuring strict adherence to radiation protection guidelines and minimising patient and staff exposure
n
- Performing routine quality assurance checks and maintenance on cardiac imaging equipment
n
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary cardiac team to ensure seamless procedural workflow
n
- Providing patient education regarding imaging procedures and addressing patient concerns
n
- Maintaining a clean, sterile and organised catheter laboratory environment

What we're looking for

n

n
- Current registration as a diagnostic radiographer
n
- Formal qualifications in diagnostic radiography from an accredited institution
n




- Demonstrated experience working in a cardiac catheter laboratory or interventional imaging environment
n
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and common interventional procedures
n
- Proficiency in operating cardiac imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and digital subtraction angiography systems
n
- Understanding of radiation safety principles, including the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) concept
n
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care
n
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to the dynamic nature of cardiac procedures
n
- Current First Aid certification and CPR qualification
n
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and occupational health and safety regulations
n
- Experience with electronic health records systems and medical imaging software is advantageous
