As part of the Community Safety and Support Services team, youwill work with internal teams and external stakeholders to developpractical initiatives that respond to the City’s current and futurecommunity support service needs. You Will support community groups,service organisations and individuals to build capacity, strengthenresilience and raise awareness through targeted training,development of resources, programs and events.

This role focuses on the community support services sector, andincludes the portfolios of homelessness, family and domesticviolence, social isolation, protective behaviours, mental health,and alcohol and other drugs.

You are enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed tostrengthening community resilience.



You Bring well-developed written and verbal communication skills and can work bothautonomously and as part of a team. Your strong administration,research and planning skills will support community-basedinitiatives, and you are confident preparing funding submissions,measuring and communicating outcomes, writing reports, and managingcommunity-focused projects and events.

To be considered for this role, you must address thefollowing essential selection criteria as part of your onlineapplication:

- Degree in Community Development, Social Science or relatedfield, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial yearsof relevant experience
- Sound knowledge of community development principles, theoryand practice
- Sound knowledge of issues related to vulnerable populationswith a particular focus on homelessness, and family anddomestic violence
- Extensive knowledge, experience with and understanding ofthe Community Support Services sector
- Experience in planning and facilitation of communityevents, programs and workshops
- Sound experienceidentifying,engagingand buildingcapacity of community groups, organisations andindividuals




- Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence and Western AustraliaWorking with Children Check

We are offering a gross annual salary of $94,367 perannum and:

- 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to afurther 5% - that’s a total of 22%
- A variety of health and wellbeing programs including aphysical health reimbursement subsidy payment of up to $200 perannum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mentalhealth programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP)services
- Rostered days off and two additional paid days of absenceper annum
