As Duty Manager of the Glenferrie Hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of this vibrant hospitality establishment located in Hawthorn, VIC. This full-time position is integral to the hotel's success, providing a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the strategic objectives of the business.

What you'll be doing

Overseeing the daily running of the hotel, including managing staff, delegating tasks, and troubleshooting any issues that arise

Ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered to all guests, addressing any concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner

Monitoring and maintaining stock levels, placing orders, and managing supplier relationships

Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations to maintain a protected and compliant environment

Assisting with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures

Providing mentorship and training to junior staff, supporting their career development

Collaborating with the broader management team to achieve the hotel's strategic objectives

What we’re looking for

Substantial experience (2+ years) in a similar duty manager or senior hospitality supervisory role, preferably within the hotel industry

Excellent customer service orientation, with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure





Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of effectively motivating and developing teams

Proficiency in operational and financial management, including inventory control, budgeting, and reporting

Sound knowledge of relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations in the hospitality sector

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with guests, staff, and other stakeholders

Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required
