Vorstrom Vacuum Equipment is looking for a Cadet Draftperson to join the design and engineering team in Warwick. This is an prospect for someone leaving school or early in their career to start a career in engineering drafting. You will be supported and trained through a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting, with on-the-job training across the range of vacuum trucks and tankers. Applicants who are completing or have completed a Certificate IV are also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

Preparation and revision of engineering drawings under supervision

Learning to read and interpret drawings, specifications and bills of materials

Using CAD software (Solidworks) to create and update drawings and models

Complete a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting

Liaise with the engineering, production and workshop teams

Potential to support the commissioning team

School leavers (or soon to be) welcome





Also open to those completing (or have completed) Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or similar)

Attention to detail and desire to learn

Comfortable using computers

Previous CAD experience is a bonus (but not required)

Able to work well in a team

Full support and sponsorship to start or continue a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting

On-the-job mentoring from an experienced drafting and engineering team

Hands-on experience across real projects in vacuum equipment design and manufacturing

Potential to expand duties to suit as experience grows
