Contract Midwife (6 weeks) with option to extend

As a Registered Midwife, you will provide protected, high-quality and compassionate care to women and their babies throughout the maternity journey.

n

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care
n
- Supporting women throughout labour and birth
n
- Monitoring maternal and fetal wellbeing and escalating concerns appropriately
n
- Assisting with normal vaginal births and supporting women with complex maternity needs
n
- Providing postnatal care to mothers and newborns
n
- Supporting breastfeeding and providing education to women and their families
n
- Administering medications and treatments in line with hospital policies
n
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and patient records
n




- Working collaboratively with obstetricians, nurses, neonatal staff and the wider multidisciplinary team
n
- Participating in clinical handovers and maintaining continuity of care
n

About you

n

n
- Minimum 2 years' recent midwifery experience within Australia
n
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
n
- Recent hospital-based maternity experience
n
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
n
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including days, nights and weekends
n
