Senior Export Controls Specialist - Defence / Guided Weapons

We are seeking an experienced Senior Export Controls Specialist to support a major Defence environment, with a focus on guided weapons, controlled technology and international import/export compliance.

n

This role will provide senior advice across export controls, licensing, customs, technical data and international trade requirements.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide advice on export/import compliance and trade controls
n
- Prepare and review Australian export and supply permit applications
n
- Support compliance with ITAR, EAR, DSGL and Defence Trade Controls
n
- Review international export authorisations and technical agreements
n
- Support the movement and control of Defence hardware and technical data
n
- Liaise with government authorities, customs brokers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders
n
- Conduct compliance reviews and support corrective actions
n
- Improve export control processes, procedures and training
n




- Provide guidance to less experienced team members
n

n

About You

n

You will have strong experience in Defence export controls, international trade compliance or EXIM, ideally within guided weapons, aerospace, Defence technology or another highly regulated environment.

n

Experience with the following will be highly regarded:

- ITAR and EAR
n
- Defence Strategic Goods List (DSGL)
n
- Defence Trade Controls Act
n
- Export permits and Technical Assistance Agreements
n
- Customs and Incoterms
n
- Supply chain and logistics compliance
n

n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Minimum active Baseline security clearance
n
- Robust export/import compliance experience
n
- Defence or highly regulated industry experience
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical advice
n
