Medical Billing Officer (Surgical Billing Experienced)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Experienced Medical Billing Officer to join our dynamic back‐office team in Spring Hill. This full‐time role offers the opportunity to contribute to a rapidly expanding business while working closely with a team of medical billing specialists and supporting medical practices nationwide.

This position is ideal for someone with strong medical billing knowledge, excellent administrative skills, and experience supporting doctors and medical practices in a fast‐paced healthcare environment. Surgical Billing Experience in Genie, Gentu or Shexie is essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities

n

Prepare, submit, and manage medical billing claims through Medicare, private health funds, Workers Compensation and CTP insurers

n

Manage and process incoming doctor requests, including billing and medical claims documentation

n

Support doctor clients to ensure claims are submitted accurately and processed efficiently

n

Review and analyse claims, identifying missing information, discrepancies, or trends

n

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all billing activities

n

Collaborate with doctors and internal teams to ensure claims are completed correctly and on time

n

Provide back‐office administrative support to medical practices, including ad‐hoc client requests

n

Apply healthcare and billing knowledge to identify and suggest process improvements for greater efficiency

n





Support the broader administrative team as required

The Ideal Candidate

n

Previous experience in Medical Billing for Surgeons and other specialists

n

Demonstrated experience managing end‐to‐end Medicare and private health fund billing, including patient verification, claim submission, collections, and adjustments

n

Working knowledge of medical billing processes and regulatory requirements

n

Experience with medical software systems such as Shexie, Genie, Gentu, Clinic to Cloud, Xestro, or similar platforms

n

Strong attention to detail with a natural curiosity to identify discrepancies in data

n

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with doctors, patients, and team members

n

Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines

n

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, with a typing speed of 50+ words per minute

n

Basic understanding of medical terminology (advantageous)
