Doughty Group is a growing Queensland-owned business operating across civil construction, retaining walls, plant hire and heavy haulage.

We are looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team and support the delivery of a strong, proactive safety culture across our operations.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being out in the field, working with operational teams and helping drive practical safety outcomes.

n

About the Role

n

Reporting to the HR & Safety Manager, you will provide practical HSEQ support across Doughty Group operations, ensuring our people, plant and workplaces meet legislative, regulatory and company requirements.

n

You will work closely with project teams, supervisors, operators and management to identify hazards, manage risks and continuously improve safety performance.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations and compliance checks.
n
- Provide practical safety advice and support to employees and supervisors.
n
- Assist with hazard identification, risk assessments, SWMS and Take 5 processes.
n
- Support incident investigations, corrective actions and close-out.
n
- Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, company policies and procedures.
n
- Assist with workplace inspections, audits and HSEQ reporting.
n
- Support worker inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
n
- Promote positive safety behaviours and a proactive safety culture.
n
- Assist with consultation processes, including HSR engagement.
n
- Maintain accurate safety records, registers and documentation.
n




- Support continuous improvement of HSEQ systems and processes.
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who is:

n

n
- Experienced in a Safety Advisor or similar HSEQ role.
n
- Confident working across civil construction, plant, transport or heavy industry environments.
n
- Practical and solutions-focused, with the ability to work effectively with operational teams.
n
- Strong in communication, consultation and relationship building.
n
- Able to identify risks and provide practical control measures.
n
- Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
n
- Confident with incident investigations, inspections and safety documentation.
n
- Committed to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
n

Qualifications & Experience

n

n
- Relevant WHS/OHS qualification preferred.
n
- Previous experience in construction, civil, plant, transport or heavy industry.
n
- Strong understanding of Queensland WHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
n
- Experience with SWMS, risk assessments, incident investigations and safety inspections.
n
- White Card required.
n
- Current driver licence.
n
