ABOUT THE ROLE

n

Mounties Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Casual Support Worker to provide respite support for a client living in Whale Beach, NSW!

n

This is a casual position offering two weekday shifts per week, working 9:00am to 4:00pm. You will be supporting a client living with dementia, so previous dementia care experience is essential.

n

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for regular casual work while making a genuine difference in the life of an older person.

- Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
n
- Providing companionship and meaningful social engagement
n
- Supporting a client living with dementia using a calm, person-centred approach
n
- Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and grooming as required
n
- Preparing meals and assisting with light household duties
n
- Supporting community outings, walks and appointments
n




- Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting any changes
n
- Encouraging independence while ensuring the client's safety and comfort
n

ABOUT YOU

n

The successful candidate will have:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience supporting people living with dementia (essential)
n
- Experience in aged care, home care or disability support
n
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) – desirable
n
- A caring, patient and reliable nature
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance
n
