Learning Intervention Specialist - 0.6-0.8FTE

Tarremah Steiner School is looking for an experienced literacy and numeracy development specialist, who will work within our Student Support Group, delivering and advising on appropriate interventions primarily for small groups and individuals. This is a part-time position starting in January 2027.

The successful applicant will be a passionate and innovative educator, who relishes being team-oriented, self-motivated and flexible, fostering strong relationships which allows for individual and organisational growth. They will be appropriately qualified in literacy and numeracy development, and highly skilled in providing differentiated instruction for students requiring Tier 2 and 3 support. Capacity to support and advise classroom staff in differentiating teaching materials is highly desired. The candidate will have a genuine interest in education and an openness to balancing their own beliefs with Anthroposophy. Experience in Steiner Education and Pedagogy is highly desirable.

Tarremah is a well-established, vibrant independent school situated fifteen minutes south of Hobart, near a beautiful nature reserve, beaches and kunyani/Mt Wellington. The successful applicant would be expected to fully participate in the School's collaborative leadership model, where each individual holds responsibility for their work, supported by an active College of Teachers, Faculty and School Executive.

Tarremah offers classes from Playgroup to Class 10 with around 300 students. Our location allows us to take advantage of Tasmania's wilderness, world heritage areas, coastlines, and indigenous cultural sites. The city of Hobart offers a vibrant cultural life that rivals larger cities, while its smaller size makes more of this culture accessible to everyone.
