We're working with a well-established family-run automotive business in Croydon that is looking for an experienced Vehicle Service Technician to join its friendly workshop team.

n

With just five technicians in the workshop, you won't be lost in a sea of job cards — and you'll have your own workshop and working area to get on with the job properly.

There are no Saturday shifts. Ever.

Yes, you read that correctly. Your weekends are actually yours.

The Role

n

This is a hands‐on technician role focused primarily on servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs across a wide range of vehicle brands.

n

You'll be carrying out:

n

n
- Routine servicing and maintenance
n
- Comprehensive Vehicle Health Checks using a tablet
n
- Brake disc and pad replacements
n
- Brake fluid replacement and correct bleeding procedures
n
- Service light and interval resets
n
- General vehicle safety inspections
n
- Suspension work
n
- Clutch and gearbox work where required
n
- Other general mechanical repairs and maintenance
n

n

The role has a low diagnostic requirement, with minimal vehicle disassembly and no expectation that you'll be rebuilding engines before your morning coffee.

n

There are no regular engine rebuilds or complex engine repairs — this is a role focused on quality servicing, maintenance and mechanical work.

n

What We're Looking For

n

We're looking for an experienced technician who knows their way around a vehicle and doesn't need the Haynes manual to tell them which end of the car is which.

n

You'll need:

n

n
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician
n
- Level 2 NVQ,



IMI or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or manufacturer-specific accreditation
n
- Confidence carrying out Vehicle Health Checks and routine servicing independently
n
- Experience resetting service lights and service intervals
n
- A full UK driving licence
n

Experience with these brands?

n

- Mercedes-Benz
n
- Jaguar Land Rover
n

n

Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment such as Xentry, TOPIx, ODIS or ISTA would also be advantageous.

n

An MOT Licence would be excellent, but it's not essential.
