Immediate Start: Cost Controller – Brisbane Based
n We're looking for a skilled Cost controller with extensive gas process or production experience, and a strong finance/cost control background, ideally with experience supporting major projects, shutdowns, turnarounds or other high-value maintenance activities. The Cost Controller will own the day-to-day cost control function for the shutdown, working closely with Event Leads to ensure accurate, timely visibility of commitments, accruals, forecasts and actual spend.

Roster - Monday to Friday - 5/2 8 hours per day
n Brisbane City Based
n Hourly rate + super - paid weekly
n Immediate start – 12 Month Contract with potential for extension

n

Key responsibilities

n

Develop SAP experience and become familiar with Santos cost control processes and systems

n

Track and report expenditure using strong finance and cost control expertise

n

Generate and manage purchase orders for labour resourcing and material procurement

n

Work closely with Shutdown Event Leads to prepare and update monthly accruals

n

Collaborate on monthly spend forecasting and identify emerging cost risks

n

During shutdown execution, provide regular visibility of actual spend and shift burn rate, including maintaining and updating the shutdown cost curve

Conduct finance and cost control audits, including reviewing historic expenditure and identifying discrepancies or opportunities for improvement

n

Work with Shutdown Event Leads and procurement/finance stakeholders to close purchase orders and finalise shutdown costs

About you

n

Demonstrated cost control experience in an oil & gas, resources, industrial or major maintenance environment

n

Experience working within a shutdown/turnaround or project environment

n

Strong SAP capability, particularly around procurement, purchase orders and financial reporting

n

Strong attention to detail and confidence working with financial data

n

Ability to work closely with operational and maintenance leaders and translate financial information into explicit, practical insights

n

Strong Excel and reporting capability

n

Ability to work independently while operating as part of a broader shutdown team

n

Flexibility to work full-time on site at Moomba during shutdown execution periods
