AVANIA PTY LIMITED Avania Clinical is a global Contract Research Organisation (CRO) specialising in the clinical development of medical devices, diagnostics, digital health technologies and other MedTech products. The organisation supports medical technology companies throughout the product development lifecycle, from early feasibility and first-in-human studies through pivotal clinical trials, regulatory submissions, post-market surveillance and commercialisation. The company works with sponsors developing a broad range of medical technologies, including medical devices, in-vitro diagnostics, digital health technologies and combination products.

Its clinical development teams support early feasibility studies, pivotal studies, diagnostic and IVD studies, post-market studies and other evidence-generation programs required to demonstrate the safety and performance of medical technologies. Avania Clinical is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join its growing global team. The position will support clinical research and MedTech projects through the development, administration, configuration and ongoing maintenance of databases used to capture, store and manage clinical study information.

The position operates within a technically sophisticated and highly regulated clinical research environment. Accordingly,



the Database Administrator plays an important role in ensuring that Avania's database infrastructure is reliable, secure, appropriately validated and capable of supporting clinical studies throughout their lifecycle.

Task & responsibilities Database administrator duties

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in database administration, database development, clinical data management or a related role. Strong knowledge of database architecture, database management systems, data structures, security, integrity, backup and recovery procedures. Experience with SQL Server and database development or administration is highly regarded.

Experience with SAS, R, Python, Power BI and/or clinical database management systems will be highly regarded. Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.

Qualifications & experience

Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Work Type: Full time

Salary: $110000-115000

Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a global team.
