The Senior Project Officer leads an escalations team within the Residential Tenancy Act Compliance Program, providing leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for escalated and high-risk cases. The role is responsible for supervising their team, coordinating strategies to achieve compliance outcomes, supporting escalated access attempts, attending site visits or VCAT hearings where required, and ensuring consistent application of statutory processes and departmental policies. The role requires solid leadership, judgement, and operational management skills to drive performance and risk mitigation across the division.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

- Provide high-volume administrative and operational support to the Residential Tenancy Act Compliance Program.
- Manage ingoing and outgoing calls, emails,



and text communications to facilitate access for the attendance of safety checks.
- Review and process safety checks that have been difficult to access, ensuring accurate classification and allocation in accordance with established procedures.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process. Preferred candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening, including a national police check and misconduct screening.
