Job Description

We're looking for a confident and polished leader to oversee a team of qualified plumbers delivering maintenance, repairs, minor works and compliance-related services across a significant institutional environment. This role requires someone who can comfortably lead from the front, make sound decisions, build strong stakeholder relationships and drive high service standards.

About the Role

n

Reporting into senior management, you'll lead a team of 4-6 plumbers while remaining hands-on in the field approximately 25-30% of the time to support the team and maintain operational oversight.

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Leading and mentoring a team of plumbers and apprentices
n
- Supervising maintenance, repairs and minor project works
n
- Preparing quotations and managing client requests
n
- Coordinating permits and ensuring compliance requirements are met
n
- Reviewing reports and operational documentation
n
- Engaging with a broad range of internal stakeholders and clients
n
- Delivering monthly presentations on team performance, initiatives and operational outcomes
n
- Supporting after-hours on-call requirements on a rotating roster (approximately every 9-10 weeks)
n
- Driving continuous improvement across service delivery and team performance
n

About You

n





We're looking for a motivated and commercially-minded plumbing professional who can confidently lead a team while also being comfortable rolling up their sleeves when required.

n

Ideally, you'll have:

n

n
- A trade qualification in Plumbing
n
- Minimum 6+ years post-apprenticeship experience
n
- Previous experience as a Supervisor, Leading Hand, Site Supervisor or Team Leader
n
- Experience preparing quotations, managing client relationships and overseeing small projects
n
- Strong decision-making skills and the confidence to take ownership
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
n
- Experience managing permits, compliance requirements and reporting processesA polished and professional approach when dealing with senior stakeholders

Desirable Experience

- Backflow Prevention accreditation
n
- TMV servicing and compliance experience
n
- Facilities maintenance or institutional environment experience
n
- Trade services leadership within education, healthcare, government or large-scale commercial environments
