Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group is seeking an experienced, high-performing Medical Administrator to join our team.
Based in the heart of Wollongong, Joint Vision is a up-to-date, multidisciplinary centre integrating orthopaedic surgery, rheumatology, pain medicine, allied health, imaging (X-ray and ultrasound), and rehabilitation - all under one roof.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with orthopaedic surgeons, allied health clinicians, and a high-performing patient services team in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This role is being advertised as a full‑time position; however, we are open to part‑time or flexible working arrangements for the right candidate, particularly those with strong experience.

About You
You are an experienced medical administrator who thrives in a high-performance workplace and takes pride in delivering a consistently high standard of patient care.
You bring:
- 3+ years experience in specialist practice or private hospital settings
- Confidence managing a high patient load with accuracy and efficiency
- Strong initiative with the ability to identify problems and improve workflows
- Excellent communication skills across patients, specialists, GPs, and hospitals
- Solid experience across Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, and private health billing
Highly regarded:
- Experience supporting clinical tasks (e.g. suture removal, clinical assisting)
- Certificate III in Allied Health, AIN, or similar training
The Role
This is a hands‑on, varied role where you will play a key part in the coordination of patient care and the overall efficiency of the practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing patient journeys from referral through to post‑operative care
- Coordinating appointments, surgical bookings, and theatre lists
- Preparing accurate fee estimates and supporting financial discussions with patients
- Processing and reconciling accounts across Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, and health funds
- Managing clinical correspondence and GP communication
- Supporting basic clinical tasks where required (training provided)
- Contributing to continuous improvement across systems and workflows
- Providing high‑level administrative and operational support to the team
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in medical administration
- Strong attention to detail and high-level computer literacy
- Experience with Gentu, Genie, or similar practice management systems
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
- Sound understanding of medical terminology
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
