Reporting to the Track & Facilities Manager, this role will help lead a small team that ensures the racecourse, training facilities and surrounding grounds are maintained to the highest possible standard. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading a team and takes pride in maintaining first‑class sporting facilities.

Key responsibilities

Assisting with the preparation and presentation of safe, high‑quality racing and training surfaces

Providing day‑to‑day leadership and direction to the Track & Facilities team

Planning, coordinating and supervising daily maintenance activities

Administration and record keeping for maintenance and improvement programs

Assisting with irrigation, agronomic and general turf maintenance programs

Operating and maintaining a range of specialised turf equipment and machinery

Coordinating race day preparation and supporting racing operations

Maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety

Assisting with the ongoing improvement of the Club's grounds and facilities

About you

Experience supervising or leading a small team

Strong organisational and communication skills

The ability to plan, prioritise and work efficiently in a dynamic workplace





A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn

Pride in producing high‑quality work

A current Queensland Driver Licence

White Card

Experience with heavy machinery

A genuine interest in turf management and/or horse racing
