In this role, you will lead complex building assessments, issue Complying Development Certificates (CDCs) and Construction Certificates (CCs), conduct critical stage inspections, and issue Occupation Certificates (OCs).

Key responsibilities

n

Assess and determine Complying Development Certificates (CDC), Construction Certificates (CC), and Occupation Certificates (OC)

n

Conduct critical stage inspections and site audits for residential, commercial, and multi-unit developments

n

Provide technical advice on the National Construction Code (NCC / BCA), Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (EP&A; Act), and relevant Australian Standards

n

Liaise with local councils, architects, engineers, builders, and project managers to resolve compliance issues smoothly

n

Mentor and assist junior building certifiers and support staff within the office

n

About you

n

Current registration with NSW Fair Trading as a Building Certifier – Class 1 (Restricted A2) is essential

n

Minimum 3+ years of experience operating as a registered certifier in NSW (private sector preferred)

n

Comprehensive understanding of the NCC/BCA, NSW Planning Legislation, and local government planning policies

n

Current, full NSW Driver's License

n

Exceptional communication, strong negotiation capabilities, high attention to detail, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
